Barnstable encourages and supports the development of well-rounded individuals.  This may include a variety of activities and interests.  However, for a youth cheerleading program to flourish, it requires the commitment of its participants, parents and coaches.  Cheerleaders are expected to be at EVERY practice. August camp is also very important and we recommend that vacations not be scheduled during this time.

REGISTRATION FEES:  Registration fees cover bows, Friday t-shirt, cheer sneakers, practice space, competition fees, administration fees, tumbling sessions, and use of the cheer uniform.

FUNDRAISERS:

  • Megaphone Drive - This is our main fundraiser and participation is required for each cheerleader - July & August date TBD

  • Cheer Showcase will be held in October - date TBA

PRESEASON CONDITIONING: Preseason Conditioning will be announced at a later date.  The cost to parents is $75 for 11 classes which consist of 1 hour of tumbling and cheer practice. Parents will need to sign up directly through 3CA. We strongly encourage participation in the Preseason Conditioning as the cheerleaders will be practicing  everything with their respective team.  They will learn all cheers and the half time routine prior to the August camp.

AUGUST CAMP:  Camp will run from August 11th -14th, 18th -21st from 5:30 - 7:30pm at BHS.

SEASON PRACTICES:  Regular season practices will begin on September 2nd at BHS.

PRACTICE IS MANDATORY.  If a cheerleader misses practice during the week, that cheerleader’s eligibility for participation in that week’s game is at the sole discretion of the coaching staff.

If you miss a practice you must have a parent or doctor note. If there is no note it will be unexcused and you will be asked to sit for part of the next game. More than 3 unexcused absences may result in termination from the team.

For purposes of defining attendance, a child that physically attends practice, but is unable to participate because of a physical condition, is considered to have attended practice.  A child that is unable to participate physically in at least one practice during the week will be evaluated prior to the game by her head coach to determine the extent to which the child can cheer.

PLEASE NOTE THAT PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ATTEND PRACTICES AND NEED TO WAIT OUTSIDE FOR THEIR CHEERLEADER TO EXIT WHEN PRACTICE IS DONE.

*** Your child MUST be picked up from all practices/games on time! ***

COMMUNICATION:  Barnstable encourages effective communications between players, parents and coaches.  Please be assured that the raising of an issue, or squad related matter, will not adversely impact your cheerleader.  In the event that you or your child has an issue with one of the coaches, or if you or your child has an issue with one of the cheerleaders, or if you or your child has any other team related matters, it should be addressed by observing the proper chain of communication.  First, speak to the coach of your squad.  If you are unable, or unsuccessful, to resolve the issue, then please go to someone on the Board.  Together, we will address the issue at that time.  It is important to respect the expertise and judgment of your child’s coaches when it comes to the squad.  If you feel that your child is meeting all of the above requirements, then the appropriate board member will reassess the individual situation with the coach.

UNIFORMS:  The cheerleader is solely responsible for the uniform furnished by Barnstable Silver Bullets Cheerleading.  The cheerleader must replace anything lost, unreturned or damaged due to negligence, otherwise we will keep your uniform deposit.  If for some reason you are unable to make the time presented for uniform fitting, please advise a Board Member.  At that point, the Organization will make our best efforts to outfit your child, but cannot guarantee that she will have a uniform in time to participate in practice with the rest of the squad.

ALCOHOL AND/OR DRUGS:  Any ALCOHOL or DRUG consumption by a participant will lead to suspension or dismissal from the team.  Parents suspected to be under the influence will be escorted from the practice/game field.  Smoking is strictly prohibited on the practice/game fields, as well as parking lots.  These are designated NO SMOKING areas by the State of Massachusetts.  Both are violations that are subject to having a parent/guardian removed from the field, having a grievance filed against them and could result in a member being suspended from the Barnstable Silver Bullets Cheerleading Program.

The cheerleaders in our program have established themselves as hard working, competitive students/athletes making the most of every opportunity.  Our goals for the upcoming season include having every child learn and participate in an organized and fundamentally sound competitive program.  ALL children will be given the same opportunities to grow, develop and apply their skills.

We look forward to meeting each and every parent during the season.  Thank you for your enthusiastic support!

2025  PARENTS CODE OF CONDUCT

The success of our youth cheerleading program requires a shared commitment among its coaches, cheerleaders and parents as well as an acknowledgement and appreciation for the amount of time coaches and board members volunteer in order that your children are able to participate in the program.  Our program is intended to be a positive experience.  Therefore, we ask you to pledge to be a positive role model for your child and others and keep in mind that the coaches and board members are volunteers.  The BSBC has always encouraged sportsmanship, responsibility, and good citizenship both on and off the field.

  1. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and officials.

  2. I will ask my children to treat other cheerleaders, coaches, fans and officials with respect.

  3. I will teach my child to play by the rules and resolve conflicts without violence.

  4. I will never scorn or yell at any children for making a mistake.

  9. I have the obligation to address any concerns that I may have at the time they occur with the Head Coach or any Board Member.

  10. I will never enter any part of the cheer area to film or take pictures at any time during a game, practice or competition.

2025 PARTICIPANTS CODE OF CONDUCT

Barnstable Silver Bullets cheerleading requires that all participants commit to adhere to the following Code of Conduct.  BSBC believes in the three “S’s” – Safety, Sportsmanship and Scholarship and expects student participants to exhibit them both on and off the field.  ANY violation of the following Codes could result in disciplinary action by the Board and/or its coaches that may result in warning or suspensions.  Always remember that cheerleading will be an enjoyable, fun team sport only when you conduct yourself as follows:

  1. I will attend all practices/games except for illness, bereavement, or religious obligations and I will notify my coach immediately if I am unable to attend a scheduled game/practice.  Unexcused absences, including nonparticipation in a significant portion, may be grounds for penalty or suspension.  Penalties may include game suspensions and possible dismissal from the team.

  2. I will arrive at practices/games on time, prepared, and ready to warm up.  I will participate in each practice to the fullest extent of my ability, including warm-ups.

  3. I agree to conduct myself with dignity and respect as a participant of BSBC and as a citizen of the community.

  4. I will be fully accountable for my behavior and its outcome.  Individual discipline is the only way to maintain team safety.  I understand that discipline problems will not be tolerated and could result in my being suspended or removed from the team.

  5. I will play by the rules and resolve conflicts without cheating or violence.

  6. I will treat all participants, including coaches, board members and other cheerleaders, with respect and know I will, too, be treated in the same manner.

  7. I will not dispute or argue the decision of a coach or official.

  8. I will not yell, taunt, tease or bully a teammate or opponent for any reason.  IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.

  9. I will not use profane language or gestures.

  10. I will avoid use of abusive drugs, alcohol and/or any other illegal substances, as they will impact my health and my performance on the field in a negative way.

  11. I agree to put forth my best effort regardless of the outcome, always knowing that I gave 100%.  This includes practice and/or games and in order to prevent, to the greatest extent possible, injury to myself and my teammates.

  12. I will agree to maintain my studies and respect my teachers and counselors.

  13. I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow cheerleaders, coaches and parents at every game and practice.

  14. I will listen and learn from my coaches

  15. I deserve to have fun during my experience and will alert parents or coaches if it stops being fun.
